I'm a digital product designer. I work with large, corporate software companies to help improve existing products or create new ones. My primary skill set is visual design (reflecting a previous career as an interactive art director and traditional graphic designer) but for the last few years 'product designer' has seemed more appropriate. That's what we are building. Products. These days I'm just as likely to contribute to product strategy, define requirements, conduct customer interviews, write user stories, build prototypes, and facilitate workshops. I still can make pixel-perfect mockups, of course, but there's lots of other stuff that needs to be done to build an amazing product.

I’m currently working with Fidelity Investments to help migrate their personal investing/brokerage product portfolio into this century. Fidelity has been a late-comer to digital and it's been a challenge. Big ships turn slowly but turn they must.

Previously, I was a senior visual designer for SAP in New York City helping their user experience team migrate a portfolio of supply chain management products to a more customer-friendly, responsive, design framework. Prior to that, I consulted with Adobe to help roll out the first issue of WIRED Magazine on the iPad and Apple to help support their online store. I've held senior roles at digital agencies such at Tribal, Digitas, Organic, USWeb/CKS, and freelanced at way too many other ad agencies and small design firms to name.

In my spare time, I like to run, tinker with motorbikes, take photographs, and spend time with my 10-year-old daughter.
